So I went looking for ways to underpaint. I might not have found anything too useful, but I did find this tutorial which led me to the Mixer Brush, which I got really excited about. I gave myself a bit of a time limit tonight, like in the days of Speedpaint Sundays, which might not have been the best idea, because I got caught up in my Photoshop drawing phase, and only got this far:
In my head, I was going to do some sort of direct light on the upturned eye and yadda yadda yadda. It would have been something. Since I was almost out of time, I went onto the analog portion of our program, and did this:
While working on it, I realized that I probably ought to delegate the majority of the fine detail work to the medium currently best suited to handling it, instead of trying to do two separate things- that is to say I should probably just try to paint over whatever I end up drawing, and it might save me a lot of time. I’ll have to try that, beause the details of the Photoshop sketch tonight were a real pain to wrangle out- that under-eye bulge should not be so jagged. :/
