So after chewing through the bus lag-induced backlog, I sat and took one look at my sketchbook. I had a brief flash of inspiration about a round-headed, long-necked dragon with a dark dorsal side, round catlike eyes and spines down its back.
If I had been drawing with a pencil, I probably would have come closer to my initial idea, but I’m actually pretty pleased with what I ended up doing (I wish I could have made more space for a larger wingspan though):
