While paging through my sketchbook, digging for inspiration on the way home, I came across those head studies I did for a possible Kolaghan-inspired anthropomorphic dragon (say that three times fast):

If I hadn’t been on the subway, I might’ve stopped to look for references as to how her warriors are typically accoutred, and if I weren’t so tired, I might have remembered the arm-fins before slapping all that shoulder armor on him- at first I was thinking of someone lightly armored like a gladiator, but with more spiky bits and less craftsmanship- the Kolaghan just run around razing/pillaging/killing stuff, so I doubt that they would have much time to create or perfect techniques for making things.
That’s why there’s that small patch of square scales on the… girdle (I’m sure there’s a name for armor around the vitals and naught else, but I’m at a loss currently).
