I think I’m falling in love with ballpoint pen.
Mostly, I find myself preferring a slightly dried-up pen. One that doesn’t flow perfectly, but with the right finessing can create some shiny, glossy lines or just kiss the page and create an indelible, but still subtle, line:
At first I didn’t know what I was doing, just messing with the feel of the pen on paper wondering if I’d be able to match last night’s piece. Then, all of a sudden, the dragon was walking. I may have overworked the crest but the white spaces I tried to leave in it were looking strange amidst all the texture and shading. The visible hindleg might be off, but I ended up adding it in when I realized that the wingsails wouldn’t work well because of the positioning- I guess they insert at the elbow joint instead of along the flanks. In a perfect world I might have considered the anatomy a bit more before I got too far into it, but I still really like it. :)
