Am I in a rut?
I mean, it’s been 5 years, 3 months, 21 days since I started on this trek; I imagine I’d have to get in and out of the occasional rut. While I’ve missed a few days through that time and the blog has some holes in it you could drive a truck through for a few reasons, I’ve been pretty disturbingly consistent in my output.
I mention this because I was tipped off to this site tonight, and looking at the ways the other people have approached the “do a thing every day” idea made me stop and think. Granted, the purpose behind Dragon-A-Day was to keep my drawing chops up (except for that one day I made a snowman; I think that the post got eaten by the Interweb), but I can’t help but stop and wonder what might have happened if I had been exploring other media more seriously around, say Year 3.
Maybe I’ll go buy some more pens and try to bring my inking game up this year, since I still haven’t been able to make peace with my tablet/current workflow.
