15 minutes of rummaging through old posts tells me that I’m a little inconsistent.
So I found myself thinking about the sketch from yesterday, and I tried to do something with a shape and fill it with a dragon. I began with something sharklike; the tail was going to be spiky or something, but as I went, my initial idea morphed into a half-dragon; a creature I’ve talked about a long time ago before, although in a different continuity than what I’m about to go into now…
Anyhoo, in D&D, for some odd reason, dragons can mate with anything (though this has been altered in other systems), and the half-dragon template exists as proof of this. For simplicity’s sake, I’ll give you the quick and dirty:
- The creature becomes a dragon.
- It gains claws and a bite attack, if it didn’t have them before, along with a breath weapon from its dragon parent.
Which is where this comes from:
Now that inconsistency I mentioned? When I sat down to type this out, I was immediately reminded of some other draconic, or probably not, according to my logic at the time, sea creatures I had drawn some years ago, though I knew of the template the whole time. Funny how things change.
