I was mulling over the idea of different-sized scales on different parts of the body and did this:
I nearly got stymied by the feet, but gave myself the leeway to make something up- there’s no real-world analog for the stance of the modern Western dragon unless you’re willing to entertain thoughts of a scaled cat, and even then, the retractable claw doesn’t seem quite right in my mind (though it does give some credibility to the idea of sharp-handed creatures who use tools on occasion… hmm).
