Found myself thinking about scales on my way home from Queens:
“The irregular scale patterns of many lizards makes it difficult (for me) to fully fill in a dragon- especially considering that the most common scale tropes draw upon lizards, snakes even alligators and dinosaurs.”
I like it, though the back kind of resembles a caddisfly larva’s shell– I’m not sure what I could have done to make the scales look less… pebbly.
