You might notice the eye sketches on the right side- I was drawing this and wanted to mess around with eyelids and other little details in the face. First, the dragon ended up looking half-asleep, then awestruck.

So I was trying to figure out how to do something that resembled the wide-eyed look that reptiles pretty much always have, but after some quick-and-dirty Googling, it seems like the eyelids aren’t really visible, at least the way that they are on, say human faces.
