I’m man enough to admit that I was (and at the time of this writing, still am) more than a little disquieted by the visuals last night (and I tried, unsuccessfully, to distract myself from my disquietude by focusing on the deliciousness of my sandwich), and enough of a plot snob to say that I was more than a little frustrated by how heavily the book relied on the visceral weirdness as opposed to moving the story forward.
