SO I was thinking about head shapes and “leaving room for the brain,” because I had had the thought that I should look into drawing more heavily from real-life reptile references.
And I should, except for the fact that the whole “lizard-brain” thing exists for a reason- there’s not a lot of space in your average reptile’s head for a brain, especially not one properly sized for Ancient wisdom and all that, so like most other things, I’ll have to make stuff up.

Well the whole “brain in the butt” thing regarding dinosaurs is pretty debunked, but that doesn’t mean it has to be debunked for DRAGONS. Why not say that they are magical creatures who get their entire nervous system to act as a brain?
If the illithids hadn’t already coined that concept, then I might be more enthusiastic about the idea…
