So I went with some of my cousins to the local (chain) bookstore here in Huntsville. It wasn’t terrible, but it certainly wasn’t anything like I would have expected from a bookstore of similar size back in New York. I was specifically looking for Empire of Ivory (Temeraire Book 4), which they didn’t have, but they did have books 5 and 6.
Anyhoo, I ended up browsing the Art section longer than I thought I might, and saw that there were a lot of “How to Draw Dragons” books (I really should have made a list). I’m not ashamed to say that I drew bits of inspiration from idly paging through some of them, but at the same time, I didn’t really feel compelled to own any of them (which is why I should have made that list).
Although, perhaps I should have, if nothing else because I need to get past the idea that I know everything, and it’s good to be reminded of the things that I (sometimes often) take for granted.
So, with that in mind, I did some construction lines , checked them and drew this.
I don’t know if this came out much better for the foresight- looking at it several days later, the forelimbs are way shorter than the hind, and that annoys me. Oh well.
