I find myself at a bit of a loss. The Eastern dragon is something of a known quantity, unlike Leviathan, though I guess it’s a little more like the cockatrice– everyone knowledgeable of such things knows what it is by sight, but there are certain conventions that one needs adhere to in order to pull it off.
Anyhow, I guess I talked myself out of the loss I was facing; the problem I felt I was having was that I felt that there wasn’t enough ground to explore, so to speak, as the dragon had already pretty much been designed, the only real difference would be the number of toes.
But there’s always some wiggle room.
I left the arms bare after reading that the eastern dragons have a finite amount of scales (barely over a hundred, if I remember right), each charged with yin or yang, so either the scales are uncommonly large or the dragons are a lot smaller than we think they are, and there’s probably not a lot of extra scales left over for non-essential protection. I figure the arms are leathery, like the face, though after thinking about it, the face might have heavy bones or plates for protection- assuming that the nearly godlike creatures needed it.
