So while at a lecture on finding work as an illustrator, I was struck by An Idea that I really ought to follow up on, to try and demonstrate my stylistic (or at least content) range- multiple “versions” of the same subject (in this case, a dragon, natch).
I kicked around some ideas and started with this:
While the dragon is fine, its anatomy (specifically the wings) turned out to be a little harder than I thought it should be, so I tried a quick comparative anatomy sketch:
I’m not done yet, and will likely pick this up again tomorrow; I just need to figure out what exactly I’m drawing here.
