So I started looking at art classes to take to try and get myself up to speed with my speedpainting. I haven’t found anything yet, but I just wanted to share tha.
Anyhow, I kind of took today off, and almost didn’t paint tonight. I guess you might say that I didn’t, bt I did do something a bit experimental:
I saw some vector art-style displays at Toys R Us on Saturday, and the way that the artist used color in places to create highlights caught my eye. Obviously, it’s something that I could adopt/adapt for my own work, but more importantly, it was a way of looking at light and shadow that I had randomly dabbled with before, but as I worked on this, I realized that with a slightly softer hand, that something like this might be turned into a more rendered piece like what I have been trying to make for some time now.
This bears thinking on and applying in the future.
