Tonight’s dragon is the smallest to ever grace the pages of this blog, smaller than even the Inkpot Wyrm.
I present to you… the Threadshrike.
I originally picked that name because it sounded cool. After 45 seconds of reading the Wikipedia article on shrikes (but not The Shrike, from the Hyperion books) it seems like a fitting enough name.
I had imagined it as a very small, somewhat vicious dragon, totally capable of the acts of casual cruelty that its avian namesake (also known as the “butcher bird”) commits. I fancy that it subsists primarily on a diet of faeries and insects, perhaps forming packs to hunt birds.
